ATLANTA — W.L. Gore has launched website www.giveawarmfuzzy.com as an online portal for consumers to raise awareness and support for three respected outdoors charities that could suffer through the existing tough economic times.
The charities are Big City Mountaineers, Continental Divide Trail Alliance and the Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition. Visitors to the site can make donations to the organizations between Oct. 1 and Dec. 15, 2008. Online visitors can generate points for their chosen charity by playing an educational game inviting friends to join and/or by donating $10, $20 or $25 directly. The charity with the most points by Dec. 15 will receive the biggest percentage donation from Gore.

"It's really hard sometimes. I think I have a reputation for being really tough and aggressive and pushy but I really am a very shy person who wants to be liked, and that's the conflict constantly. There's something that takes hold - I want people to like me, I don't want to be mean - but if I see something that just cries out to be answered, I go for it," says renowned NBC News correspondent Andrea Mitchell.
