With its tree-lined courtyard framed by colonnaded arcades, the 17th-century Palais Royal has evolved into one of Paris’ hottest retail spots since the arrival of the Marc Jacobs store in 2006, with the likes of Rick Owens, Stella McCartney and Acne following suit. Also home to old-world cafes and vintage dealers — in particular vintage fashion guru Didier Ludot — a number of artisanal accessories brands figure among the Palais Royal’s new guard. With Pierre Hardy, Qeelin and Italian jewelry designer Donatella Pellini among the first wave, new arrivals continue to appear, making it a must-shop area for hot-accessories seekers.
