Renovations at Lord & Taylor’s Fifth Avenue flagship are back on and in a big way.
The company will invest $40 million over a 12- to 18-month period beginning in January to renovate floors two to nine, Richard Baker, the chief executive officer of Hudson’s Bay Co., told WWD Tuesday as the Canadian retail group reported a $2 million net loss for the third quarter. The total renovation tab, according to sources, could be as high as $70 million to $75 million figuring in vendor contributions.

"It's really hard sometimes. I think I have a reputation for being really tough and aggressive and pushy but I really am a very shy person who wants to be liked, and that's the conflict constantly. There's something that takes hold - I want people to like me, I don't want to be mean - but if I see something that just cries out to be answered, I go for it," says renowned NBC News correspondent Andrea Mitchell.
