ATLANTA — Izod has become the official apparel of the IndyCar Series, Firestone Indy Lights and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, according to a agreement between Phillips-Van Heusen, which makes Izod apparel, and the Indy Racing League (IRL).
The Izod sponsorship made its official debut this past weekend at the Camping World Grand Prix at the Glen at Watkins Glen International. For the rest of the season, PVH will provide Izod apparel to Indy Racing League and Indianapolis Motor Speedway officials and staff that work on and off the track. Beginning with the 2009 season, PVH will also supply the Indy Racing League with an exclusive Izod fashion collection inspired by the heritage of American racing and designed to address the performance needs of the League’s executive’s and crew.
The partnership includes promotional, merchandising and co-branding opportunities at and away from the Series’ racing venues, as well as online.
Izod also will sponsor the Guthrie Team and drivers Ryan Hunter Reay of the IndyCar Series and Logan Gomez of the Firestone Indy Lights. Guthrie Racing is the team that Gomez drives for.
Allen Sirkin, COO, PVH, called the IndyCar Series “an ideal fit for with the spirit of Izod. We’re also extremely excited to inaugurate our relationship with Indy Racing by also sponsoring two rising stars in drivers Ryan Hunter-Reay and Logan Gomez. These two young men embody the bold determination and active lifestyle of Izod.”
The sponsorship got off to an especially good start when Hunter-Reay won his first-ever IndyCar Series victory at Watkins Glen International on Sunday.

For @massimogiorgetti of @msgm, the Nineties are his favorite decade. “They had a huge impact on my personal growth. What I like of the Nineties is that they are not so precise in terms of style as other decades…there was actually a bit of everything,” he said. As seen on MSGM’s Spring 2018 show: tie-dye and a bit of grunge, two styles that are synonymous with the decade #wwdfashion #wwddecades (📷: @kukukuba)

“Personally I believe the Eighties have been the richest and more vivacious period for international fashion,” Giorgio Armani said when asked what his favorite decade of fashion is. It was a moment of disruption and experimentation and only thinking back to the first years of that decade is always an emotion for me, for what they have meant to me and my work.” The influence is clear in @giorgioarmani spring 2018 collection, pictured here, which was full of bright colors and unexpected prints.
