NEW YORK — Jason Wu’s world at Bergdorf Goodman is growing.

On Wednesday morning, Wu inaugurated his new, dedicated space on the specialty store’s third floor with a breakfast and trunk show — the first of its kind on the floor in years.

Wu was previously in an area internally referred to as the Lab Space, but which now has a 200-square-foot in-shop environment, which quietly opened after Labor Day.

“I went from one rack four years ago to two racks,” Wu said. “It’s great to take it to the next level now. It’s so important. I always wanted to be in Bergdorf’s when I first moved to New York.”

Elizabeth Hui, vice president and divisional merchandise manager, designer and couture collection, noted that Wu’s business has “grown considerably and we have a great partnership with them. He appeals to a very broad base of customers.”

It’s also the first space that encompasses Wu’s ready-to-wear and handbags. “We now carry everything from a sweater to eveningwear,” Wu said. “It’s important that customers can shop the entire collection in one space.”

Since opening, the designer has been pleased with the results. “We had to restock it three times already,” Wu said.
