Kohl’s has named 10 young volunteers as national winners of the Kohl’s Kids Who Care Scholarship Program. Almost 18,000 kids were nominated for the annual scholarship. The 10 winners receive a $5,000 scholarship for postsecondary education. Kohl’s will also donate $1,000 to a nonprofit organization of each winner’s choosing. This year’s winners are: Mimi Ausland, 13, Bend, Ore.; Paul Carey, 18, West Chester, Ohio; Rocco Fiorentino, 12, Voorhees, N.J.; Patrick Foster, 18, Sachse, Tex.; Jeffrey Hanson, 15, Overland Park, Kan.; Dallas Jessup, 17, Vancouver, Wash.; Bailey Reese, 13, Niceville, Fla.; Anna Rose, 18, Evergreen, Colo.; Hannah Turner, eight, Perrysburg, Ohio and Winter Vinecki, 10, Salem, Ore. Founded in 2001, the Kohl’s program has awarded more than $2.2 million in scholarships and prizes to about 9,000 youngsters nationwide.
