Macy's Inc. said it will enhance its environmental sustainability principles adopted in 2008 with a series of initiatives over a multiyear program, including its private brand organization joining the Sustainable Apparel Coalition.

The company said results through 2013 include a 38 percent reduction in the firm’s electricity usage since 2002 and a 95 percent adoption rate of recycled or certified paper used in the company’s marketing materials.
