LOS ANGELES -- I. Magnin has created a designer division and realigned the responsibilities of a number of key executives.

Adrienne Hoyer, senior vice president and general merchandise manager, will be responsible for designer apparel, designer sportswear, fine apparel and bridal. Hoyer will continue to oversee cosmetics, designer accessories and shoes and will report to Joe Cicio, chairman and chief executive officer.

Joan Bergholt, senior vice president and general merchandise manager, will add fashion accessories to her current responsibilities for bridge and casual sportswear, precious jewelry and dresses. Jamie Villablanca, senior vice president and general merchandise manager, will be responsible for intimate apparel and coats in addition to his former areas of men's, decorative home and children's. He and Bergholt will report to Scott Bowman, president.

I. Magnin also has named David Nutterfield fashion director. He was women's fashion director at Macy's West/Bullock's.

The appointments come in the wake of Michele Smith's departure to join Barneys New York as senior vice president and general merchandise manager of women's ready-to-wear. She had held the same position at Magnin's.
