The Men’s Wearhouse has expanded its popular Prom Rep program.

Launched last year, the program offers teens 10 percent off their tuxedo rentals for every friend who rents at the Men’s Wearhouse. Ten referrals translates into a free tux. Female prom reps who earn a free tux rental can either transfer it to a friend or opt for a $100 Visa gift card.   

In 2009, participants had to visit a store to take advantage of the program, but this year, the company has instituted more social and online tools.

After registering in-store or at online, each participant will receive a Prom Rep ID to gain access to a personal home page, on which they can track their stats and promote themselves to friends on sites such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, and SMS messaging.

"Prom fashion, plans, and even invites are being shared through social marketing, so it was clear an online platform needed to be at the center of this year's campaign," said Matt Schow, vice president of online marketing and e-commerce for Men's Wearhouse.

This year’s program also includes a contest where participants will be entered for a chance to win Chevy Camaro Coupe 2SS. The sweepstakes ends June 30.
