NEW YORK - Jenny Ming, president of Old Navy and a member of the original executive team that founded the Gap Inc. division, will leave the company this fall.

Gap said it will begin a search for Ming's successor and will consider both internal and external candidates.

The departure comes at a critical period for Old Navy, which is revamping merchandise and store décor in an attempt to recapture lost market share.
