Boyds, a top independent specialty store in Philadelphia, has added two executives to its men’s buying team. Brudner has 28 years of men’s buying experience and reports to Jeffrey Glass, co-owner of Boyds.
In addition, Joe Augustine has assumed the buying and merchandising responsibilities for the store’s new men’s contemporary department, overseeing everything from sportswear to tailored clothing. Augustine’s had worked most recently as furnishings and sportswear buyer for Andrisen Morton in Denver. He had also spent 14 years with James Davis in Memphis, Tenn., where he had been the furnishings buyer. Augustine will report to Ken Gushner, another co-owner.

"It's really hard sometimes. I think I have a reputation for being really tough and aggressive and pushy but I really am a very shy person who wants to be liked, and that's the conflict constantly. There's something that takes hold - I want people to like me, I don't want to be mean - but if I see something that just cries out to be answered, I go for it," says renowned NBC News correspondent Andrea Mitchell.
