NEW YORK -- Saks Fifth Avenue said Thursday that it will close its A/X Armani Exchange store in Columbus, Ohio, on June 25.

The announcement confirmed a report in WWD Thursday.

No other closings were announced. Saks has eight other freestanding A/X units and two in-store A/X shops.

"A/X Armani Exchange continues to be an important and valid concept to which we remain dedicated," Philip B. Miller, Saks chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
