Sears Holdings Corp. on Friday shed 300 corporate employees from its support center locations after a review of its business needs. This represents 4 percent of the roughly 6,900 headquarters employees of the company, which is based in Hoffman Estates, Ill., according to a Reuters report. A Sears Holdings spokeswoman said these former employees of the Sears and Kmart parent who are eligible “will be offered severance packages and outplacement to assist in their transition.” Sears Holdings lost $146 million in the third quarter ended Nov. 1, as sales fell 8.6 percent to $10.7 billion.
