NEW YORK — Business around West 34th Street returned to normal over the weekend following Friday’s fatal shooting of Steven Ercolino, 41, vice president of sales at Hazan Import Corp., an accessories firm, near the Empire State Building.
By Sunday, 34th Street was flooded with tourists. A manager at the Bebe located at 1 West 34th Street said that it had been hit hard by the shooting on Friday, when the store had to be closed until 1 p.m. “It was really slow on Saturday,” she said, noting that traffic was picking up on Sunday. “They just didn’t make any money, and SoHo was doing really well.
