NEW YORK -- Julian Taub, senior vice president of planning at Bloomingdale's, has retired and formed his own retail consulting practice here.

Taub, 66, was a member of Bloomingdale's executive committee. He joined Bloomingdale's 17 years ago as vice president and chief financial officer and was vice president of planning since 1988.

He developed seasonal financial plans, negotiated leases, analyzed businesses for profitability and return on investment and did long-range planning and analysis on capital expenditures.

Taub's clients include Simon's, an upscale decorative hardware and bath business here.

Bloomingdale's has not yet named a successor.
