NEW YORK -- Tobu Department Store Co. Ltd. has named Shuhei Yoshikawa chief representative in the company's office here.
Yoshikawa will act as a liaison between Tobu buyers and U.S. resources.
Buyers from the Japanese retailer shop the women's, men's, gift and accessories markets here. Among the labels they take back to Japan are Joseph Abboud, A Line and Anne Klein. Yoshikawa, who reports to Chifumi Tanaka, Tobu's general manager of overseas operations, was director of U.S. export promotion in the public affairs department of the Japan External Trade Organization's branch here.
Tobu operates a 922,000-square-foot department store in Tokyo and two others in Japan.
Tobu Department Store Co. is part of the Tobu Group, a $8.2 billion conglomerate operating supermarkets, museums, hotels and transportation services, as well as department stores.
