Following recent flagship openings in Paris, London and New York, Uniqlo on April 2 will open its first store in Moscow, based in the upscale Atrium shopping mall.

The new Moscow site, which measures around 13,000 square feet, will offer all of the brand’s lines, including its +J collection designed by Jil Sander and its new denim collection, UJ.

Steaming ahead with its global expansion, Uniqlo since February has opened 125 stores outside of Japan, where the firm is based. On its home turf over the same period, the firm opened 793 sales points.

The brand said it intends to open 100 to 200 stores a year outside of Japan as parent company Fast Retailing Co. Ltd. aims to grow sales from 685.04 billion yen, or $7.56 billion at average exchange, for the year ended Aug. 31, 2009, to 5 trillion yen, or about $55.18 billion at current exchange, by 2020.
