MOMMIE DEAREST: For a Mother’s Day tribute, Bloomingdale’s gets up close and personal in its windows by showing photos of the mothers of five designers. There’s one of Michael Kors as a kid in a bathing suit with his mom Joan, and another showing Milly designer Michelle Smith as a baby, with her mother, Patricia. There are also photos of Patricia Taylor, mother of Rebecca Taylor; Yigal Azrouël’s mother Remond, and Deedie Rose, mother of Lela Rose. The photos went into the Lexington Avenue windows Wednesday and appear alongside the latest ready-to-wear from the designers’ and their sentimental Mother’s Day messages. “My mom, Joan, has always been my biggest fan,” writes Kors, while Smith describes her mother as “Warm and nurturing. Carefree and happy. Stylish and oh, so artistic. I always wanted to be just like you.”

ASIA MAJOR: It’s in the can. Word has it Angelina Jolie was in Siem Reap, Cambodia, earlier this week to shoot Louis Vuitton’s next “core values” campaign, which features Annie Leibovitz photographs of famous folk on their life journeys. Almost as famous for her humanitarian efforts as her movies, Jolie has done extensive work in Cambodia, homeland of her adopted son Maddox, and where certain scenes in “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” were shot.
WHEN IN PARIS: Spanish fast-fashion giant Mango is taking its show on the road, to the Centre Pompidou in Paris, to be exact. Come May 17, Isabeli Fontana, who appears in Mango’s fall campaign, is expected to lead a cast of top models for the brand’s first runway showing outside its native Spain. France is Mango’s second-biggest market after its home country, with a total of 123 company-owned and franchise locations. Kate Moss, who is in a short film by Terry Richardson, is among VIPs expected to attend, with Belgian singer Selah Sue due to perform at the after party.
NANETTE OUT WEST: Nanette Lepore touched down in Los Angeles Tuesday for a pool party at the Four Seasons Beverly Hills to celebrate her latest swim collection. But the designer, dressed in one of her own sundresses on the 80-degree day, was already thinking fall. “I think suits are going to be big,” she said, adding, “It’s going to take some doing to get people to spend the way they used to, but I think the news about bin Laden will help us move to a recovery.” Lepore had been considering opening a second store in Los Angeles, but said Dallas or Houston was most likely next on the list. “There are people there who never stopped shopping,” she said.
