The end of fashion week finds most celebrities with a weary sense of fatigue and a growing disdain for flashbulbs. Not Charlize Theron.
Unaffected by the overabundance of parties, fleeing paparazzi (overbooked for the evening with other red-carpet affairs) and the overall strain of a packed fashion week, Theron glowed in a blue one-shouldered Givenchy dress with white zip-up Givenchy heels at the Wednesday night New York screening of her new film, “The Burning Plain.” The star grasped a small black Bottega Veneta clutch as she grappled for the designer of her gold and diamond hoop earrings. “Fred…” she said, searching. “Leighton! Fred Leighton! Sorry. First name basis, me and Fred.”
Theron admitted she was not particularly bothered, or interested, in the happenings going on in Bryant Park. “Shows? I went to see my friends at Rag and Bone — it was amazing. That’s the only one I went to.”
The actress explained that she was not in New York for the sartorial celebrations after all, but for more sporting endeavors. “I was here for the tennis,” Theron winked. “This is the week that we’re really promoting the film. And fashion week is way over, right? Oh it’s not? Well last week I was here for the US Open. I was enthralled in the tennis.”
Notably absent at the Skyy Vodka sponsored after party at The Box, perhaps the star had decided to practice her forehand instead.
