There’s no better place than Capri to conjure images of a glamorous seaside holiday sipping a drink alfresco. Five-star luxury Capri Palace Hotel & Spa, voted consistently as one of the best hotels in the world, chose the Caprito as its top cocktail of the summer.
“We chose the Caprito because it is very fresh and light — exactly how we try to make our guests feel during their stay here at the Capri Palace,” says bar manager Antonio Chirico. “Also, because one of the main ingredients, limoncello, comes from our island and is famous for its taste and quality, which we are extremely proud of.”
The cocktail is served in Venetian Murano glasses specially made for the hotel by Carlo Moretti.
4 mint leaves
1 lime cut into wedges
1 oz. limoncello from Capri
Recipe: Crush lime with mint, add limoncello and ice and top off with cranberry juice. Garnish with slices of fresh fruit and mint leaves.
A perfect vacation spot, The Four Seasons Resort Provence at Terre Blanche is nestled in the heart of Provence and a short drive from the French Riviera. It offers the most refined services in a beige and terra-cotta decor inspired by traditional Provence villages — and, this summer, the most refreshing drink, Mojito Vodka. It is made with pear vodka instead of the traditional rum. Terre Blanche bartender Guillaume Bilbault shares his recipe:
Take a tumbler and put 10 leaves of mint and half a lime cut in 6 sections
Add 1 teaspoon of brown sugar
Muddle 3 or 4 times (not too much)
Add crushed ice and 2 ice cubes
Add 2 oz. of Grey Goose Pear Vodka
Top of with lemonade or 7up
Mix with a spoon
Add 2 straws, top with mint and a cluster of red currant
