If Giles Deacon’s spring show Monday night was all about a playful mood, then the designer’s after party — complete with mini hot dogs and guests smoking in the bathrooms — was in keeping with that theme. Guests including Agyness Deyn, sporting a freshly shorn Mohawk; Pixie Geldof; Alessandra Ambrosio; Ana Beatriz Barros; Katie Grand, and Deacon gathered at East London restaurant Bistrotheque to let loose after the show.
But while Deacon kicked back, many guests were contemplating the coming weeks of shows ahead. Grand said Marc Jacobs had already been buzzing her about the Louis Vuitton show, which she’s styling. “He said, ‘I’ve got all these beautiful clothes for Vuitton — what on earth are we going to do with them?’” related Grand. But she was mum on her plans.
There’s not much rest for Deacon, either, who has his debut Ungaro show set for Paris Fashion Week. Sid Bryan of the edgy London knit label Sibling said he’ll be working with Deacon on the knits for the show — but he wasn’t on duty on Monday. “I’ve got my machine at the ready, but just for tonight I’ve put knitting out of my head,” said Bryan.
