Despite a tornado watch being in effect in outer boroughs on Thursday night, intrepid stars Susan Sarandon, Uma Thurman and Philip Seymour Hoffman piled into The Paris Theater for a screening of their latest film “Jack Goes Boating”. While the typically press-shy Thurman dodged reporters by running in through a side entrance, Hoffman was more forthcoming about the project, which was his directorial debut. Of what he described as “a cathartic tale about how hard it is just to get by,” he offered, “It’s tough…and as we get older it means more and it’s more dangerous…. as you get older, you get closer to death.” Sarandon, meanwhile, had slightly more upbeat topics on her mind—namely, fashion week festivities. “I generally only go to my friend’s show–Donna Karan, Chris Benz,” said the actress, who brought her dog to the former. “My dog loves shows,” she explained.
