Outerwear ad or alternative rock band video? Thirty Seconds to Mars’ video teaser promoting the band’s upcoming album could leave viewers wondering if not for the appearance and vocals of Jared Leto.
The band’s lead singer dons a blue jacket from The North Face throughout the short video clip, which shows Leto and his bandmates — brother Shannon and Tomo Milicevic — traipsing through the Western outdoors. Leto promoted the clip on the same day that “Suicide Squad” held its world premiere in New York, which he appears in as iconic DC Universe character the Joker. While Leto showed up to the premiere decked in embroidered Gucci, his affinity for the outdoors is just as documented as his love for the Alessandro Michele-helmed Italian brand. The actor and singer directed the recently released video series “Great Wide Open,” which documents adventurers exploring America’s Natural Parks, and his Instagram is testament to his time spent out in the field.
Thirty Seconds to Mars will release its fifth studio album next year through Interscope Records.
