Peasant: Peasant Bistro joins established dining destinations Mick’s and Pleasant Peasant as the third installment in a chain largely responsible for shaping the course of Seventies in-town dining. Here, chef Shane Devereux prepares country French and Mediterranean fare in a dramatic space overlooking Centennial Park and the Atlanta skyline.

Try the mussels cooked in pinot grigio, Georgia trout with almonds and lamb tangine with couscous. Polish it off with pecan sticky pudding, then head to the bar downstairs via a dramatic, sweeping staircase for some specialty cocktails — Jack Daniels made with ginger cream or a tiramisu martini. The bar serves lighter fare, including French onion soup, burgers and mussels Provençal.
Room: Housed in a prime Downtown spot — the ground floor of one of Atlanta’s trendiest hotels — Room at Twelve Centennial Park, Concentrics Restaurants’ newest launch, serves a mix of contemporary American cuisine and innovative Japanese dishes, courtesy of executive chef Nick Oltarsh and sushi chef Tomohiro “Tomo” Naito.
Oltarsh’s anchor dishes, including salmon Milanese with chopped salad and braised short ribs with stir-fry vegetables, are complemented perfectly by Tomo’s more adventurous plates — toro tartare with caviar is a must-try. Feeling indecisive? Order the Room platter, a sampling of sushi highlights. Get close to the action at the sushi bar, where diners can peer directly into the open kitchen.
Room’s bartenders mix colorful and playful libations, like the Georgia Mint Julep, the Carrot Gingerini and the Red Pepper Mojitotini.
