Caudalie Vinotherapie Spa
4th Floor, The Plaza Hotel
1 West 58th Street
New York, N.Y.
At Caudalie Vinotherapie Spa, there’s more to absorb than the plush scenery, i.e., The Plaza Hotel. The spa, which is known for infusing grapes into its formulas, recommends both a facial and a body treatment to get skin bright and luminous. For the face, the spa recommends Vinoperfect Facial, one that uses a patented molecule extracted from grapevine sap to brighten and even out skin tone. The facial includes cleansing, toning and exfoliating, and is followed by extraction. Then skin is massaged with Caudalie’s Energizing Concentrate. An alternation of warm and cool stones are applied to improve circulation and, according to Caudalie, the skin is ready to absorb the sun more evenly and with less likelihood of dark spots forming.
For the body, Caudalie recommends the Crushed Cabernet Scrub, a warm mixture of grape seeds, grape seed oil, organic essential oils, honey and brown sugar that’s massaged over the skin to stimulate microcirculation and drainage of excess toxins. Caudalie’s Contouring Concentrate and Nourishing Body Lotion are applied to restore skin radiance, moisture and suppleness. Prices for the Vinoperfect Facial start at $185 for 50 minutes. The Crushed Cabernet costs $145 for 35 minutes.
