The YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund’s “Breakfast with the Boss” program will feature an assortment of top-notch designers and industry executives this year.
The second edition of the breakfast series kicks off June 12 with Mitch Quaranta, the co-chief executive officer of Swatfame, a Los Angeles and New York-based apparel manufacturer. The breakfasts, which are held weekly through the first week of August, will also feature Future of Fashion award recipient Jason Wu; designer Carly Cushnie of Cushnie et Ochs; Wes Card, ceo of The Jones Group; Abbey Doneger, president of The Doneger Group; Ronnie DeMichael, chief operating officer of Rocawear, and Wayne Meichner, president and chief operating officer of the Polo Retail Group of Ralph Lauren Corp.
“Nurturing the next generation of fashion requires that the current leaders share their experience and expertise,” said Jimmy Rosenfeld, YMA FSF president and president at F&T Apparel. “Having a stellar lineup for our breakfast series grants our summer interns amazing access to the best minds of our industry.”
The YMA FSF offers its scholars — 126 strong in 2012 — internships in the fashion industry with member companies. Scholars have the opportunity to complete their internships at companies including Geoffrey Beene, PVH Corp., Li & Fung, Tommy Hilfiger, Macy’s, Greg Norman, The Doneger Group, F&T Apparel and Ralph Lauren.
