It’s that time of year when London’s Serpentine holds its big, outdoor summer bash.
Guests like Pierce Brosnan, Diane Kruger, Rod Stewart, Kevin Spacey, Thandie Newton, Hussein Chalayan, Alice Temperley, Dennis Hopper and Lydia Hearst danced to the DJs’ Eighties mix and mingled underneath Zaha Hadid’s huge umbrella-like installation.
Damian Hirst wasn’t exactly clear about what Hadid had in mind. “I really don’t understand architecture,” he said. “But I definitely prefer this to Rem Koolhaas’ design last year.”
Across the Atlantic, in L.A, Kate Bosworth, Joaquin Phoenix and Dita VonTeese attended a house party in Los Angeles thrown by Nordstrom for Proenza Schouler designers Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough.
The low-key soiree was hosted by handbag designer Brigette Romanek and her husband, film and video director Mark Romanek, at their home in the Los Feliz hills.
McCollough was clearly enjoying his trip. “I would love to move out of New York, actually,” the designer said. “I’m a nature boy.”
