Fresh off her performance at Alexander Wang’s afterparty, Courtney Love continued her fashion week rounds at the Jane Hotel, where she hit the Another Magazine dinner and Dazed & Confused afterparty. She didn’t have to play again (Brit band The Horrors took care of that) but maybe she would have liked to: “You should see me perform — it’s the only thing I’m good at,” she joked to publisher Jefferson Hack.
(Hack wasn’t worried about going up against Marc Jacobs, Visionaire and Lady Gaga: “Having more people come out on one night works better for both of us,” he said.)
Meanwhile, Love’s 17-year-old daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, sat on the couch with photographer Steven Klein, looking slightly overwhelmed by the crush of people. “It’s my first time doing fashion week,” said Cobain, who is in town for the Betsey Johnson show. “It’s going to be interesting because I’m not a fashion person.”
On the other side of the room was another famous rock progeny, Georgia May Jagger, the face of the bash’s sponsor, Hudson Jeans. The Brit was in for a long night: “My flight is at 5 a.m.,” she moaned. Her stilettos weren’t helping: “These hurt like hell but they look great so I’m wearing them,” said the gamine.
Upstairs, Jared Leto made a clean sweep of the pretty girls in the room while Björk held court in the bathroom with a gaggle of Icelandic friends. Sophia Hesketh, Stavros Niarchos, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, Lily Donaldson and Hack’s girlfriend Anouck Lepere hung out on couches while Paramount Pictures honcho Brad Grey took in the fashion week revelry.
Even a visit from the local police precinct (presumably because of the rampant cigarette smoking) didn’t put a damper on all the action.
