Though they usually meet for lunch, not breakfast, Tory Burch, Tara Rockefeller, Renee Rockefeller, Jennifer Creel and Jane and Aerin Lauder joined Michael Kors for a pretrunk show bite at Cafe Boulud last Thursday. By the time they hit the store, however, the ladies had built up an appetite for fashion. Jamee Gregory scanned the racks and immediately set her sights on an orange coat. “You are so organized,” Kors exclaimed.
That night those dedicated to kids headed to the GIFT Foundation fund-raiser for Builders of the New World, a charity benefiting homeless children. The organization’s president, Wendy Roosevelt, great-granddaughter of Eleanor, is a second-grade teacher at Spence, while co-host Lauren du Pont arrived straight from a parent-teacher night at her daughter’s school. Of course, tickets to the Victoria’s Secret fashion show were adults-only items up for auction there. But du Pont’s husband, Richard, declined to bid. “I have my own Victoria’s Secret fashion show every night at home,” he joked.
