“Wait—you’re Lily Cole, you’re Roxanne Lowitt and you’re from Duran Duran. What’s going on here?” said Heath Ledger, who had wandered into the Bowery Hotel with some friends. He’d happened upon the Another Magazine dinner on Sunday night, where he also found friend Helena Christensen, as well as Chloe Sevigny, Amy Sacco, and a host of fashion fixtures: Terry Richardson, Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McColloughand Erin Fetherston.
After a surprisingly staid dinner at the Bowery Hotel’s Gemma restaurant, Rachel Weisz came over from the Narciso Rodriguez party to say hi to friend Neville Wakefield and the rest of the crowd decamped to The Box for the after-party. There, the crowd outside the door was such that Simon Le Bon and Another’s Jefferson Hack were shoved back by unwitting security guards and almost didn’t make it in. Once inside, guests were treated to a risque show which had more than a few blushing.
Meanwhile, Diane von Furstenberg held her dinner and afterparty at the salon at her new 14th Street headquarters,. Seen among the crowd were Andre Balazs, Rupert and Wendi Murdoch, Ellen Barkin, Veronica Webb, and Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly, who has become quite the fixture this season at the shows. “There’s always a lot of really beautiful women, and I enjoy that,” said Kelly, who over the weekend denied speculation he was thinking of running for mayor. “I’m busy as police commissioner; I don’t have any such ambition yet.”
