“I gotta tell you, this is the whole ‘I’ve died and gone to heaven’ routine,” sighed Chanel’s chief operating officer Arie Kopelman as a procession of beautiful tweed- and pearl-clad ladies — including Mena Suvari, Sheryl Crow, Sarah Wynter and Kristen Davis — filed into Goldie Hawn’s Pacific Palisades home for a Chanel couture presentation to benefit Children’s Action Network and Westside Children’s Center. “I’m living the fantasy. I will not elaborate.”
In the garden below, hostess Kate Hudson, clad in one of Chanel’s stretchy spring dresses, reminisced. “We moved here when I was in high school, and this is the house we would party in when our parents were out of town,” Hudson said.

But as she watched the couture confections glide down the runway, it was a love of fashion that turned the star wistful. “It’s definitely painful to watch a fashion show when you are pregnant. I can’t wear any of it, and I probably never will. But the coats I could keep my eye on. With a few alterations, they might fit. In a month, I don’t know.”
