The Four Seasons has long been a mega lunch watering hole, but Tuesday night, any real power player worth his or her weight in headlines descended upon the Grill Room for a cocktail party hosted by Dixon and Arriana Boardman in honor of A. Alfred Taubman and his new book, “Threshold Resistance.”
And apparently, the memoir, which chronicles Taubman’s rise to financial and business success and equally ignominious fall, including a frank description of his time in prison after the Sotheby’s scandal, is such a hot commodity that even one of the evening’s hosts couldn’t get her hands on a copy. “I haven’t read it yet—I can’t find one!” laughed Arriana Boardman. “I’m dying to read it but they just keep disappearing.”
Among those in attendance were Henry Kissinger, Dominick Dunne, Leonard Lauder, Donald and Melania Trump, Mica Ertegun, Annette and Oscar de la Renta, Jamee Gregory, and the author, who was constantly bathed in the glow of the CBS TV crew doing a documentary on him.
