PARIS — Following in Amy Winehouse and Beth Ditto’s footsteps is a mighty task. Goldie-locked British teen pop sensation Pixie Lott rose to the challenge as the latest singer chosen by Fendi for its seasonal Fendi fashion week party.

Now Lott, who has already notched up two number-one singles in the U.K. — “Mama Do” and “Boys and Girls” — plans to conquer America, starting next month.

“It’ll be the first time I go there to do promotion. I have a label over there and they have big ambitions for me,” she said before her performance Tuesday night.

Lott’s new jet-set lifestyle is a far cry from her days as a performing arts student only a few months ago. Her name was even painted on an airplane for the European release of her album, “Turn it Up,” last month.

She counts Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder and Otis Redding among her musical inspirations, and their influence shines through in powerful and smoky pipes that defy her 18 years.

Lott left her audience on Tuesday spellbound from the moment she opened her mouth. As Karl Lagerfeld, Prince and Katy Perry looked on from the balcony, the singer was showered in rose petals.

Lott — who has a penchant for wearing shorts year-round — said her style icons include Edie Sedgwick and Brigitte Bardot, the latter suggested by large sweeps of black eyeliner.

Lott’s real name is Victoria, but she was nicknamed Pixie by her mother in reference to her small size as a baby. Looks like she’ll outgrow it very soon.
