Nothing battles midweek blues like movie night — particularly one shown at the Hollywood Forever cemetery in Los Angeles.
Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were among those who turned out to watch a screening of “Meatballs” under the stars Wednesday evening at an event hosted by Band of Outsiders, Net-a-porter and MR PORTER.

“This is great. It feels a little like when you were young and at camp,” said Richie, who is in the process of launching her new handbag line. “We have a [baby] sitter this evening, and this is definitely a fun, if unusual, way to spend the evening outside.”
Band of Outsiders’ creative director Scott Sternberg, Busy Phillips, Sarah Silverman and Jenny Lewis were also among those who cozied up on blankets and pillows under the stars, while guests sipped Dewar’s cocktails out of mason jars and toted cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon and caramel popcorn across the cemetery lawn.
“I love this place. It seems so quirky to spend an evening at the cemetery, but it’s beautiful, and is actually the perfect place to watch a projection,” Phillips said. “Plus, you can wear whatever you want — no heels tonight.”
