To toast Ryan Korban on his latest tome “Luxury Redefined,” Curve owner Nevena Borissova took a page right out of Korban’s book — several, to be exact.
“We papered the entire store with the book,” she explained of her outpost on Robertson Boulevard in Los Angeles, teeming with the likes of Amber Valletta, Langley Fox, Kathy and Nicky Hilton and, of course, Korban’s New School classmate and constant collaborator Alexander Wang.
“We papered the entire store with the book,” she continued of the installation, created by KiDS Creative’s Pascal Dangin. “She’s up for anything,” marveled Korban, who designed Curve’s Bond Street store in New York (he’s also working on Curve’s upcoming boutique in the Malibu Country Mart).
Though he’s designed interiors for the likes of James Franco and Jessica Stam, he still got giddy when he spotted one camera-shy guest. “Did you see Britney Spears? Britney Spears came to my book party,” Korban squealed to cohost Nicole Richie. While she hasn’t officially worked with Korban yet, Richie plans to take full advantage of his time in Los Angeles.
“I’m like, ‘So, do you want to just decorate my house while you’re here for the weekend? I’m not going to pay you obviously,’” she cracked. “Just do it on the fly.”
