Chanel Beauty threw a dinner party Thursday night to celebrate the five-year anniversary of its celebrity makeup artist program, gathering a bevy of pretty young things in the flower-filled courtyard of its Robertson Boulevard boutique.
Elle Fanning, Hailee Steinfeld, Gia Coppola, Lydia Hearst, Lily Collins, Kate Sumner, Poppy Delevingne and Kate Bosworth mingled in the normally stark white space, transformed for the evening into a lush garden with a rustic wooden canopy and trellises bursting with garden roses and camellias.

Collins, still sporting ebony hair from her just-wrapped untitled Snow White film with Julia Roberts, called the production “a fun adventure for the whole family.” It seems like a far cry from the dark “Snow White and the Huntsman” version starring Kristen Stewart.
“She and I have talked about it, and the movies are totally different,” Collins said. Bosworth was also enjoying a break after finishing an untitled indie film she produced and shot in Italy.
“That was hard work, and no money, so it’s nice to have a rest,” she said.
Guests, seated at three long tables beneath rows of candle-filled lanterns, chatted through the entrée. After dinner, Sophie Auster, the progeny of Paul Auster and Siri Hustvedt, got up from her seat to sing two soulful numbers accompanied by David Levin on the guitar, then just as casually sat back down as dessert was served.
Some, like Shiva Rose and Tierney Gearon, took the cue to call it a night, but not before picking up black-and-white boxes of makeup.
