The fashion industry is nothing if not mercurial, so for a company to celebrate a century in business is no small thing. On Thursday, WWD kicked off its 100th anniversary festivities with a cocktail party at Bergdorf Goodman for the book “WWD: 100 Years, 100 Designers.” Vera Wang, Francisco Costa, Gilles Mendel and Isaac Mizrahi flipped through the tome, which features glossy pics of some of the most influential designers since the paper’s start in 1910 (remember Hattie Carnegie?). The celebrations continue on Nov. 2 with a major bash at Cipriani 42nd Street.
“[WWD] is a timeless paper, not only for fashion,” said Bianca Jagger, who’s appeared on its pages since the Studio 54 days.
