Emmy nominees Kerry Washington, Josh Charles, Anna Chlumsky, Joanne Froggatt, Julie Bowen and Allison Janney kicked back at the Entertainment Weekly party at Fig & Olive in West Hollywood on Saturday night. But one nominee in particular won’t be able to relax until the ceremony — and her award show diet — officially end. “It’s all about eating. French fries or salt and vinegar potato chips, some kind of chocolate bar, doughnut, ice cream. I’m hungry,” Sarah Paulson said. “All those things that are quote unquote forbidden when you’re thinking about wearing a dress that’s couture. It’s just crazy,” said the “American Horror Story: Coven” star of her post-Emmys plan to binge on junk food.
As the pressure of the big day mounts, Paulson’s day-of plans will likely include a visit to the gym. “Women who say they don’t do that [and say] ‘I was just out with my friends eating a waffle.’ Nobody eats a waffle before they go on the red carpet. Stop lying! They didn’t lose all the weight by breastfeeding. Just start telling the truth. We’re all dieting and the food’s being delivered. This is how it happens. Period. I just can’t stand it,” said the three-time nominee in a refreshingly honest diatribe that could have doubled as a stand-up act. “I should stop, right? I’m sober!” she insisted to reporters on the red carpet, as her publicist shook her head.

Way out of earshot: Washington, who showed off her trim post-baby physique in a crystal-encrusted black dress and posed for selfies with her “Scandal” co-stars, Darby Stanchfield and Katie Lowes. Paulson also donned a number with an “Eighties prom dress” vibe, while Chlumsky, Padma Lakshmi and Mira Sorvino rocked frocks in the color of the moment, fuchsia.
Jaime Pressly came ready to party in a sparkly vintage Halston dress and a freshly chopped pixie cut. “This is the one [event] everyone loves, where everybody cuts loose. It’s normally the night before the Emmys, so I think people are probably going to cut loose a little more than they normally would because the Emmys aren’t till Monday. Sleep in tomorrow,” she said.
Pressly, who took home a statue for her role on “My Name Is Earl,” has big Emmy night plans this year: “To be in my sweats watching it on TV. It’s nice to be able to go and be nominated and win, and it’s nice to be able to sit at home and watch it in your sweats. It’s nice either way,” she said.
