For its 20th anniversary, FABB founder Renee Brown was a bit nostalgic.
“This is the dress I wore to the first FABB,” said Brown, founder of the Fashion Accessories Benefit Ball, which took place Wednesday at Pier 60 in New York.

Over the past 20 years, FABB has raised more than $12 million for various charities, including Kids in Distressed Situations and the International Fund for Animal Welfare.
This year’s event celebrated QVC with the Fashion Accessories Merchandising Excellence award, or the FAME award, as well as Haskell Jewels’ chief executive officer Frank Fialkoff with the FABB Achievement Award.
Designer Kathy Van Zeeland, presenting QVC executive vice president and chief merchandising officer Doug How with the award, said, “There is nothing better in my career than going on QVC and explaining to the consumer — never mind the retailer, with all due respect — my inspiration.”
Betsey Johnson, one of Haskell Jewels’ licensees for costume jewelry, presented Fialkoff with his trophy, calling him “Fab, fabulous, fabo,” and joked, “When Frank is smiling, I know that we are making money.”
Fialkoff responded in kind: “[Johnson is] the only one tonight that hasn’t asked me for markdown money.”
Other guests at the event included Accessory Network chairman and ceo Abe Chehebar and Accessories Council president Karen Giberson.
