Like so many events during Oscar week, the Thursday night party at the Chateau Marmont to honor best actress nominee Michelle Williams, co-hosted by Diamond Information Center and Forevermark, was a swirl of introductions and dresses.
After making an entrance with Williams, Busy Philipps greeted and promptly embraced Bryce Dallas Howard.
“I’ve heard so much about you,” she exclaimed. “I feel like I know you.”
Howard expected to attend an event a night throughout the Oscar festivities, but hadn’t strategized her wardrobe choices beyond the lacey Jil Sander dress she was wearing.
“Sometimes I will plan way in advance, and sometimes I pick running out the door,” Howard said. “There’s no pressure on me. This is just fun.”
Unlike Howard, Liz Goldwyn was feeling pressure to pin down her party dresses and envied men’s ability to avoid the fuss, although she certainly wouldn’t go too far.
“I’ve got on La Perla knickers; I love being a girl,” she said.
Debra Messing figured out an easy way to stock up on her dresses for the week. “I got it online,” she said of her black Bensoni number. “I’m a big online shopper.”
