GARDEN STATE: It was a lovely day Tuesday for a garden party in Los Angeles, and that’s what Dior Beauty threw at the Chateau Marmont to celebrate its garden party-themed spring makeup collection. The sunshine put the chatty crowd, including Lucy Hale, Nicole Richie, Nikki Reed, Giada De Laurentiis, Erika Christensen, Jayma Mays, Shenae Grimes and Molly Sims, in good spirits as conversations spanned topics ranging from Marilyn Monroe to Halloween.
“Me and my four best friends are being ‘Toddlers & Tiaras.’ I think we are going to downtown L.A. and getting pageant dresses and attaching pacifiers to them,” said Hale. “It’s the most entertaining show on television. It is really mind-blowing what parents put their children through.”

Christensen is opting for a more adult take on Halloween. “Rosa [Salazar], my boyfriend and I are tentatively staging a three-person ‘Breaking Bad’ costume,” she said. “I’m a new, but very big ‘Breaking Bad’ fan.”
Reed was disappointed she’d be missing Halloween festivities because of a trip to Rome for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1.” Aside from the movie, the actress said she’s working on developing television shows and writing a novel. “It is the one thing I feel my parents are semiproud of me about,” said Reed, who co-wrote and starred in “Thirteen,” one of her literary efforts.
