Glamour Fetes Patrick Demarchelier’s Work

BEAUTY SECRETS: There was no shortage of hairstylists and makeup artists at the dinner to launch “Glamour in the 70’s,” a book celebrating Patrick Demarchelier’s work for the magazine’s U.S. edition.

The photographer was the guest of honor at a dinner at the Monsieur Bleu restaurant in Paris’ Palais de Tokyo on Sunday.

There, the Courtin-Clarins sisters shared their beauty secrets on how to look fresh even in the final stretch of fashion week.

“Clarins Baume Beauté Éclair! It is really helpful,” said Virginie Courtin-Clarins. “Also, our grandfather taught us techniques to apply products and de-puff your eyes and face,” she said, referring to the founder of Groupe Clarins.

“I would also add yoga,” said Claire Courtin-Clarins.

To maintain healthy skin during fashion week, Pecheux said: “Facial massages. Basically, no makeup — just a spa treatment.” It’s a technique he used on models backstage before the recent Balmain show.

Other guests included Hanneli Mustaparta — who asked Odile Gilbert for some hair tips — Aurélie Bidermann, Pierre Hardy, Orlando Pita, Coco Rocha and Karlie Kloss.

Kloss noted that in Demarchelier’s photos from the Seventies women are smiling.

“He makes us laugh, so he captures women when they are most beautiful,” she said.

Demarchelier’s collaboration with Glamour continues. Most recently, he shot the magazine’s December cover.
