HBO’s annual post-Emmy party at Pacific Design Center went for a Moroccan theme this year, complete with pink animal print couches and giraffe table cloths. Tiki torches with coconut tops stood near palm trees that shaded the scene in the vast open-air courtyard. Fashion plate Chloë Sevigny was one of the first to arrive, in a borrowed animal print Lanvin dress for her self-described “Cinderella night,” but as she took in the décor, she quickly realized that she had a potential fashion faux pas on her hands.
“I always love leopard. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize it was a tiki theme. I’m going to look kind of silly in front of those posters,” she said. She quickly forgot when Tom Hanks strode in clutching his statuette for “The Pacific’s” win for Best Miniseries, but the actor admitted he was also star-struck. “We still sit there like goofy fans. Holland Taylor is an old friend. Jack Kevorkian is a new friend. You get to see everybody at the Emmys,” he joked.

“I’m going to dance,” shouted Rita Wilson, as the DJ spun a mix of new and old school hits from Rihanna’s “Don’t Stop the Music” to Lipps Inc’s “Funkytown” (as scantily clad belly dancers shimmied from above the dance floor). But Lake Bell was in a more chatty mood. “We’re going to find drinks and a couch,” she said, with pal Lindsay Sloane by her side. “We need to find our own social hub! That’s where our group will be. Then, the drinks happen after.”
