PARIS — Hermès International is hanging up its hat on one of its most emblematic events: the Prix de Diane.
The annual horse-racing event, in partnership with France Galop, was a chance for France’s upper crust to don fantasy headwear and picnic on the green lawns sandwiching the racetrack and the picturesque chateau at Chantilly, France.

For the past 26 years, Hermès invited as many as 12,000 guests to the June event, each year boasting a different ethnic theme and corresponding cuisine, crafts and entertainment.
In a statement, the company said it would begin a new equestrian event in Deauville in August, but gave no further details.
