“I did my first shoot with i-D in 1990,” said Kylie Minogue. “It was a pretty bold maneuver to choose me – I was just this little pop gal. And for me, i-D was so cool and edgy.”

Minogue and more than 200 guests, including Tom Ford, Roland Mouret, Joe Corre, Kristen McMenamy, Patsy Kensit, Clare Waight Keller and Sam Taylor-Wood crowded into a big warehouse space in Soho, congratulating the magazine’s founders and owners Terry and Tricia Jones.

“For me, it’s like coming home – I was an i-D kid,” said Mouret. “The first time I was in i-D, I was a 20-year-old model in an Ellen von Unwerth shoot. That shows you how old I am.”

During the affair, the Joneses unveiled their new book “i-D Covers 1980-2010” (Taschen). A lot has happened in fashion during the last three decades, but Terry Jones said one of the biggest changes is how the industry has become so business-centric. Although, he added, “You still can’t put a price on creativity.”
