Talking about Jenni Kayne, Kate Walsh marveled, “She has this super-California cool juiciness.” In that spirit, Kayne threw an effortlessly chic, laid-back garden party Thursday evening to fete her namesake brand’s 10th anniversary at her sister Maggie Kayne’s leaf-covered Los Angeles gallery Kayne Corcoran Griffin.
Guests, including Eric Dane, Rebecca Gayheart, Rodger Berman, Greg Chait, Estee Stanley, Brian Lee and Soleil Moon Frye, nibbled on gooey lasagna stuffed into cupcake cups and chicken-and-waffles buffet style, sipped refreshing vodka cocktails named The Almont and Brentwood Punch after Jenni Kayne’s store locations to cheekily remind them of their reason for being there, and treated themselves to ice cream sandwiches from Coolhaus’ ice cream truck.
“I’ve got ice cream all over me,” exclaimed Gayheart after taking a big bite of a cookie-and-ice-cream concoction. The chill, summery vibe was just what Kayne had in mind to mark a decade in business. “I really wanted it to be my friends and family and no pressure about who came, just fun and celebratory with good drinks and music,” she said. Over the next 10 years, Kayne would like to open more stores and expand her accessories repertoire, but, basking in the company of her supporters, she concluded, “I’m happy with how it is now. I’m thrilled with what I’ve built.”
