HITTING A MUSICAL NOTE: Speaking of boogying, Kanye West’s sophomore collection at Paris Fashion Week turned out to be just the prelude for an evening of musical entertainment, as a galaxy of hip-hop and rap stars hit the stage at the after party.
Guests including Kim Kardashian, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Cassie, Pusha T, Riccardo Tisci, Sky Ferreira, Alicia Keys, Rosario Dawson, Pedro Winter and Shyne were among those who took in sets by Azealia Banks, Big Sean, Waka Flocka Flame, Mos Def and Common.
Waka Flocka Flame said he would soon release his second album, “Triple F Life: Friends, Fans and Family.” More surprisingly, the Atlanta-based hip-hop artist has shot his second campaign for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, adding that he strongly opposes the use of fur in fashion. “You know, I can’t fault nobody for doing what they do, I’m just pushing my opinion and hoping they follow,” he said.
At the end of the show, the lights went down and brightly lit go-carts zoomed around the space, while guests repaired to a temporary nightclub. “I like what he’s doing, he’s a high creative and this is another medium for him to be expressive and creative, so I’m all for it,” opined Mos Def. “I liked the outerwear, I liked the silhouettes.”
As Banks belted out “Liquorice,” Gabrielecorto Moltedo was one of the few guests paying attention. “I grew up on rap. The best thing is to play it really loudly in the car,” he said.
