Not long after some Coachella revelers turned in after partying into the wee hours at Calvin Klein’s desert warehouse rager, others were waking up to enjoy a leisurely brunch in Palm Springs with designer Rebecca Minkoff and Smashbox Cosmetics cofounder Davis Factor.

Held at Villa Carmelita, Sonny and Cher’s former estate, the event also encouraged guests to amp up their festival fashion and beauty game, with on-site, hand-painted customization of leather jacket and bags, a design-your-own lip-gloss bar, henna tattoos, makeup touch-ups and pom-pom-adorned crowns.

“Our customer considers Coachella her Christmas,” said  Rebecca Minkoff on her decision to throw a party. “When I counted over 500 of our bags at the festival, I was like, ‘Wow.’ We knew that this is a bigexperience for her, and as a brand, we wanted to keep talking to her in a place she loves.”

That includes fan and festival veteran Whitney Port, who returned to the desert for the first time since her Palm Springs wedding to producer Tim Rosenman in November. Wearing the same shoulder-baring dress from the spring collection as Minkoff, Port laughed at the matching outfit coincidence. “I walked in and my sister said ‘I think someone is wearing the same dress as you!’ and then [Rebecca] turned around and I was like, ‘That’s OK. I can handle that.’”

On hand to DJ the affair was Katy Perry’s stylist Johnny Wujek, who also chose the music for close pal Minkoff’s L.A. store opening in November. “I’ve lived in Los Angeles for 17 years and gone to Coachella every single year,” said Wujek, who wore white denim cutoffs paired with Uri Minkoff sneakers. “It’s been sleeping in a car to, you know, having a house.”

Factor turned up late to his own party, albeit with a good excuse. “I had the weirdest Coachella yesterday I’ve ever had in my life,” said Factor, who spent the night tending to a sick friend. “I am really looking forward to tonight and tomorrow.”
