Not even a freak thunderstorm could keep the chic set from celebrating Ruben Toledo’s “Fashion Almanac” at Indochine on Monday night, at a party co-hosted by Nordstrom and Vogue. The book, a comprehensive collection of Toledo’s iconic fashion illustrations, was artfully displayed alongside ever-available saketinis and glasses of ginger sangria.
But the socials and art types in attendance were more in awe of Toledo himself. “They’re just so f—ing cool,” one onlooker said, gazing at Toledo and his wife Isabel mugging for photographs. “How chic can you get?”
Desirée Rogers, Peter Som and Jason Wu also came in support of the artist and his designer spouse, who were gearing up for their trip to Washington, D.C. where Isabel was showing her line at the Swiss embassy. “Ambassadors wives, here I come!” the designer crowed.
