At the end of a sunny, 74-degree day in the Hamptons, a bronzed group of socials and celebrities came together at Donna Karan’s East Hampton estate for a screening of a TV series about a woman with skin cancer.

Which didn’t really seem to resonate with guests, probably because the sun was long set and there’s little risk of melanoma under the stars.
Rather, the crowd at the Cinema Society, Showtime and Urban Zen-hosted viewing, including Edie Falco, Calvin Klein, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, Mark and Sunrise Ruffalo, Gabourey Sidibe, Martha Stewart and star Laura Linney (who plays said cancer patient in the cable network’s “The Big C”) mingled, drank and ate on Karan’s expansive deck overlooking Gardiners Bay.
Perhaps, too, the group was inspired by Linney’s character who takes a devil-may-care attitude towards life after her terminal diagnosis, pouring red wine on her white couch and ordering only “liquor and desserts” for dinner.
“This [character] has infiltrated my life more than anything I have ever done,” said an upbeat Linney who brought along her mom Ann Perse, a nurse who worked at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
